Back again for the sake of argument, my mostly uninformed rankings of North Carolina football teams. Feel free to disagree.

Based upon what I saw Saturday night at Durham, I'd place Duke ahead of Carolina who struggled to beat McNeese St. Duke was impressive defeating a good Subdivision team in Madison. Coach Cutcliffe has the boys playing at a good level, and Duke fans showed a lot of enthusiasm in support. Cutcliffe is approaching rock star status in Durham. They will lose some games, but they may win as many as they lose this year. Carolina has a lot of work to do right now. Wake may be the best team in the ACC this year by a fair margin.

Response to Question of the Week.

After seven years of seeing the terrible photographs of 9/11, my thought is that I do not need to see pictures again, again, and again of the horror of destruction and people dying.

Thanks, Susan. I'll redirect that comment.

Anonymous: Until Duke beats Carolina, I'm not inclined to elevate the Blue Devils, just because Carolina is paying its coach a lot more.
