Not so fast on Hillary's new job
Uh oh. There's a buzz in Washington about a constitutional impediment to Hillary Clinton's appointment as SecState. It's found in Article I Sec. 6:
"No Senator or Representative shall, during the Time for which he was elected, be appointed to any civil Office under the Authority of the United States which shall have been created, or the Emoluments whereof shall have been increased during such time ..."
Which means, that because Condi Rice got a pay hike while Hillary was in the Senate, Hillary can't reap the benefits by moving into the SecState job.
Not for a minute do I think anything like the Constitution actually will block Hillary's official nomination and confirmation, but it will be interesting to see exactly how this problem is skirted.

Don't worry Doug! Hillary will be confirmed in a New York heartbeat for the Sec of State Job. In fact the only Senator that will be opposing Senator Clinton job will be the reelected Republican Senator from Georgia who will have his constitutional expert at his defense.....Governor Sara Palin will provide a little known constitutional fact that anybody born in Kenya or Pennsylvania cannot be President or a government employee.....
It appears the Republicans have finally won the election after all.......
However the bad news is that Governor Palin will be bought forth on treason charges since she supported that Mavevick George Bush
