Another life taken by former probationer

Here's a very sad story from Raleigh ...

Diontay Deshone Williams, 25, pleaded guilty Tuesday to second-degree murder in the death of his 7-month-old son, Xavier.

The child had multiple rib fractures, a black eye and head trauma, The N&O reports.

Williams "had been released from a jail sentence for violating probation less than a month before Xavier's death in August 2007."

He was on probation in Guilford County following a 2005 conviction for assault with a deadly weapon, according to his DOC record.

Additional thought: Suggested probation requirement in some cases: Not allowed to father children.

Wow! Right out of the ole Nazi socialist manual! Sounds like the old Tuskegee Syphill experiment from the 1930's by the US government. Will the probation office perform the Castgation operations or will it be farm out to the local State Hospitals?

OK, so it's still allowed to father children.

But not kill them afterward.

Sounds fine to me, Doug. While you're at it, let's make birth control mandatory for women on welfare.

I sometimes recognize hyperbole when I see it.

Our Supreme Court has recognized the right to procreate as fundamental. Unfortunately, many do not understand that parenthood does not end at conception. (This is one thing that I agree with our incoming president on).

It is kind of ironic (sad?) when you think about it, though, isn't it. You have to jump through hoops and pay money to get a mutt (no offense intended to those loyal Heinz 57 canines) from the animal shelter but anyone, no matter how ill-equipped can produce children.
