Earmark reform? Not yet
I believe President Obama would rather not break his no-earmarks promise.
But neither does he want to play hardball with Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid.
Political expediency wins -- as usual in Washington.

Just another thought: Would the American people as a whole elect Pelosi or Reid?

Keep thinking? It appears that your past thought process was lost in the last election when the Republicans were sweep out in total Chaos simply because there was not another real choice in political parties.

There is no more classic example of the collaboration of corruption between the two parties.
First they pick our pockets, then get together in a cellar somewhere in the middle of the night to split up the loot. The party in power gets 60%, and the other party gets 40% of what they've stolen from us.
It appears that a mere FOUR Demo-Rats did not sneak up to the trough, joining about 18 Republicans. That is 22 of 535 members of congress who care about the corruptness of the earmark process.
I expect it from the Demo-Rats, but it appears that most of the Republicans are no better. Apparently O'Bummer doesn't know what earmarks are, as he told us there were NONE in his recently submitted. I guess he subscribes to the Clintonism, "it all depends on what the meaning of earmark is!"
