Easley's actions demand investigation

Today's news about Mike Easley is very troubling.

Our former governor is out of office but not beyond accountability.

This demands investigation by Attorney General Roy Cooper. His political future should depend on it.

One of the most disturbing aspects of this is how state watchdog agencies could have been blind to the governor's activities. I hope the fact that this is a state under one-party rule doesn't mean no one challenges the actions of a party leader.

Good for Gov. Bev Perdue for ordering release of information. Now, who's going to get to the bottom of this?

Oh puhlease, Doug. WHERE HAVE THE N&O AND N&R BEEN UNTIL NOW? You-all waited until he was out of office to even look!

Roy Cooper's political future actually might depend more on a slander suit that is now moving forward in state court. It appears North Carolina's chief law enforcement officer has enjoyed nine years of job security because he bold-faced lied in campaign ads.

I guess Dan Boyse is a "wack-job" too for fighting back so hard and so long.

And if our chief law enforcement officer could lie to get his job, what makes you think that state oversight agencies couldn't overlook Mike Sleazely's lies so he could keep his?

And (moving right on along because there is so much more to see), if North Carolina's AG and Governor can lie to get their way, what's to stop two well-connected "non-profit" hospital executives in Asheboro from trampling the crap out of a doctor in public service because she wouldn't look the other way?

These cases should be investigated? NO FREAKING KIDDING!

So. Again. Where have the newspapers been? Please tell me. I'd like to go there and find a real reporter.

Oh, and please don't accuse me of having an "agenda" with all of this un-reported, un-investigated, un-prosecuted garbage coming out of Raleigh.

Now, who's going to get to the bottom of this?* Doug

Nobody! Just like the Obama Justice Department not seeking out Bush and Cheney Republicans for their torture policy........

Mary, I spent the week end in Raleigh, this was a question asked about the NO, who ran a page and half on this.
Wonder were Roy Cooper was in the Duke case, Basnight slush fund, Basnight bed and breakfast, and Black?
However Ole Roy may have his on troubles, seem there is a lot of smoke about him and a few million dollars from the highway trust fund!
Then there is Perdue and the Parton Theatre.
I would guess that a newspaper could sell a lot of copies, if they were to report on the Raleigh Mafia, in real time.
I would guess Tax Hike Mike, may have few problems, none of it will come from state officials. I doubt he will have many from anywhere. Obama will take care of him.
Of course that just my opinion.
I hope he winds up in jail.
Wonder why you never hear Pelosi name mentioned in the torture BS.
She lies about the lies she lies about.
I hope all of you that has a mother still living told her you loved her today.

Pointing a finger at state employees who feared being fired if they challenged the gang in charge leaves four fingers pointed at the editors who praised those most responsible for corruption and censored or maligned those who tried to expose it.

If a small town CPA with hardly any political background and limited contacts could figure out there was a major corruption problem in state government over a decade ago, it is hard to believe the major papers, with their resources and contacts, have been unaware of that problem.

Since I expended significant time and personal resources trying to inform the press of the problem so they could inform the public and the press refused to report well documented facts unfavorable to the Jim Hunt/Jim Black gang and their political allies, your outrage is laughable.

If you want to get to the bottom of this, try printing some of what I’ve already exposed.
