Hagan takes the right stand on Holding
Mark reports that Sen. Kay Hagan believes George Holding should stay on board to complete the Easley and Edwards investigations.
"It is my feeling that George Holding should stay on until these investigations are over with," Hagan said in a conference call with North Carolina reporters today.
"I don't feel it would be in North Carolina's best interest to replace someone who is investigating these two very high-profile people ... He ought to have the opportunity to complete that investigation."
Good call by the Democratic senator. The White House should respect her judgment.

Well, if Kay wants to keep him, I'll cut him some slack. Not that my opinion really matters. :)
She is a much better ally for Holding than the NCGOP. I don't know if you saw this ham-handed attempt over at the Dome and my response:

"But the state Republican Party argues that Holding doesn’t just go after Democrats. They note that he also prosecuted such Republicans as former U.S. Attorney Sam Currin and former state Sen. John Carrington."
Jebus, Brent. Do a little research upfront, okay?
Sam Currin was prosecuted by Gretchen Shappert out of the Western District office, and John Carrington was investigated by Commerce and prosecuted by James Candelmo and John Bowler while Whitney was still the top dog in the Eastern District."
Seriously. What were they thinking?

In North Carolina, the Dems present more targets of opportunity for a federal prosecutor ... at least until the Republicans assume power. But that's a long way off.
Anyway, it would be no favor to a Democratic successor to put him in the middle of this Easley mess.

Last week Hagan, was trying to get rid of Holdings! Made the statement, this has nothing to do with the fingering of a Easley and Edwards, just a coincident. So the NO said.
Darn sure sure, our AG, never catches a democrat.

BS! Anybody knows that the head federal lawyer does not set federal policy nor makes decisions without approval from the Justice Department on high profile political cases. It appears that Senator Hagan is simply really what lots of folks already knew is that she is Dole Lite and the Obama Justice Department is starting to appear to be Bush 3.
