Is it safe?
My gums and lips have been numb since noon.
Had two fillings today.
Took two needles' worth of anesthesia to do the job.
Dentist says those nerve endings connected to the lower teeth can be tricky. There's only an 85 percent success rate of deadening all that needs deadening.
I'll take the extra needle any day --even if it feels as if the Goodyear Blimp is docked under my mustache.

Good excuse to unplug the phone and catch up on some reading. My last one was a two-needler too. My sympathies.

What you need is a first-class root canal. They jab you enough for sure, but you don't feel anything -- including half your face -- for about 6 hours. {;-)

Eric's right. I was dreading a root canal and when it happened it was incredibly easy.
Another thing is your choice of Dentists. I've been to several and finally found one who suits me perfectly. He is gentle, but thorough.
So, I had the root canal. And a crown. And a tooth in my mouth that cost more than my first car!

Next time, pay the extra $50 bucks for the nitrous oxide.
You will be floating on the ceiling and won't care about anything.
Of course afterwards, there is still that good-year blimp thing going on, but it doesnt seem as bad somehow. :)
