I think it is above 50 now.
Why do they do this? Are there bookies in Vegas who are right now taking bets on what the final numbers will be?

While some are saying that security efforts are "downgrading" terrorist ability to harm innocent civilians, I think that's overly optimistic.
My early thoughts on this is that there is no way to "win" in this conflict. No matter how firm a grip the police and army get on public venues, there will always be places and times that attackers will be able to succeed. There's no telling what that will mean long-term, but I expect it isn't going to be pretty.

Eric,
I think you are right about that. What scares me is that the police and the army WOULD manage to get that firm of a grip on public venues. Too 1984 for my tastes.

It's an understandable thing for people to desire to be safe in their everyday lives. And to willingly give away freedom in exchange for safety can make sense. The problem comes into the mix when you realize that the safety you desire to buy with such an exchange does not exist.

truth, If the number gets above above 75, they get to take another freedom away . . . (current new world order minimum)
