Three thumbs down
I am on a three-movie losing streak:
1. "Firewall": Harrison Ford stars as a computer whiz in what could have been an engaging cyber-thriller. So, how does he ultimately defeat a bad guy who wants Ford's character to hack into a bank's computer system? Easy. Ford, 63, pummels the younger, stronger guy to a pulp. Yeah, right.
2. "When A Stranger Calls": Don't answer. This alleged thriller contains not one scary moment.
3. "Freedomland": Samuel L. Jackson and Julianne Moore star in this speechy, preachy attempt to be earnest about Important Issues such as race and class.
Maybe I should read a book this weekend.

Movie releases have hit a pretty bad patch over the past year and a half, mon. In general, I mean. Hollywood moaned about the lower ticket sales all year long, but very few of the folks I read ever thought to consider this idea: STOP MAKING CRAPPY MOVIES!!

Allen, don't ever count us old guys down and out for the count. Sometimes street smarts is better than youth and strength when it comes to kicking butt with the young tough wannabe's.

However if you wish, as Clint use to say, Go ahead , make my day. hahahhaahhahaahhaha!

Allen,
Ever hear of Jack LaLaine and the power of juicing. He is 85 and can still kick butt.

Hey, I'm no spring chicken myself, but I guess I expected him to use his brain instead of just throwing the guy through a window. But that would have been original, wouldn't it?

Originality and commercial viability are vastly different things. I see that every time I submit my novel to a new editor. :(
On offense intended...

Yea Allen but when the guy gets thrown out the window he has a few moments to re-think his move that got him there in the first place but it is a guarentee that he won't make the same mistake again. And the old geezer just keeps on doing what comes natural for him. hahaha.

I liked Firewall; saw it tonight. Harrison Ford did seem a lot older than his wife, more like a grandfather to kids that age. But he did use his brains, and of course in the end, that pick axe just happened to be there. That did help. Ouch!
Heard another Indiana Jones movie is coming out.

You have a future as a film critic, if only for the 'When Freedom Calls-don't answer' line. I get frustrated watching movies these days. Nobody seems to edit them and they run 20 minutes longer than they should and have parts that could easily be lost.
