'Apocalypto Now (actually later)'

Doug beat me to seeing "Apocalypto," and gives it two bloody thumbs up. But I am definitely going to see it, probably over the weekend.

And probably without a date.

Doesn't sound like much of a date movie.

On the contrary. As was posted on Doug's blog, trust me, Apocalypto raises the bar for what it means to be a real woman. You'd be well advised to take her along.

(I realize that since we are in modern times it may not be p.c. of me to refer to your date as a "she". If this is not the case, Allen, I do apologize.)

Going out on a gender limb and ass.u.ming Allen's date is a "she," perhaps that gory stuff will cause her to do that ultra-feminine, "Ooooo!" thing where she buries her head in your shoulder.

Or she walks out.

Dating is always a risk.

Allen Johnson said:

She is a she (not that there's anything wrong with that) and I can guarantee she ain't goin'.

Doug said:

Sue's comment reminds me of my movie dating strategy way back in the day, developed when "Jaws" came out.

I saw the movie for the first time with my buddies. The second time, I took a date. Knowing exactly when she would jump, I was ready for the catch.
