The swimsuit edition
Beyonce graces the cover of the Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition. Some decry the annual issue as exploiting or objectifying women, even as it annually makes a ton o' money.
But it has taken so long for the magazine finally to recognize the beauty in black women, I ain't mad at 'em.

Allen, I think we can find common ground. Diversity is wonderful.
On second thought, would I feel different if somebody was grabbing me by the back of the head and forcing me to the newstand to buy the swimsuit S.I.?
(SCS opens his recently purchased S.I.)
On third thought,...nah.

"But it has taken so long for the magazine finally to recognize the beauty in black women. . ."
Tyra Banks was on the cover in 1996 and 1997. I agree: ten years is too long!

Have you been listening to your old Sir Mix-A-Lot CDs, Allen?

The song to which you refer is not one of my all-time favorites.

Okay - your comment just reminded me of that song. Or maybe it's Beyonce that reminds me of that song...(sigh)
