ACC drama

Say what you will about the ACC Tournament belonging in Greensboro -- and it does.

Thursday's first round of action was one of the best I've ever seen.

OK, State over Duke in overtime was tense and well-played, but it wasn't a shocker.

But Maryland losing to Miami?

And if I'd told you a couple days ago that Wake Forest would beat Georgia Tech 114-112 in double-overtime you'd have wondered what I'd been drinking. And smoking.

The tournament belongs in Greensboro because those great games sound like a funeral. . . . A funeral for Coach Rat-Face and his cheap-shotting horde!

Why does the tournament "belong in Greensboro"? I am sure that other teams appreciate having it in their state so that UNC, Wake, State, and Duke do not always have huge home court advantages.

Oh Man !

What does Greensboring have going for it that Tampa - St. Pete doesn't? If I had to spend three or four days in a nice hotel in Tampa or in a nice hotel in Greensboro, I'd probably pick Tampa every time - and surely, if given a choice between a week in High Point or a week in Las Vegas, 99 out of 100 folks would pick Las Vegas every time. I mean is it really a contest?

Holden,

From the looks of it, most folks disagree with you.

If the tournament would have been in Greensboro, it would have been packed. As it was, I could fly to Tampa, watch the games, and fly home cheaper than I could have got tickets in Greensboro.
