No biggie?
It was disappointing to see City Manager Mitchell Johnson blow off Matt Brown's possible connection to a City Council campaign as no big deal.
If all city employees and department heads are allowed to do as Brown allegedly has done -- recruiting someone to run for council and aiding one candidate -- a major mess would await.
At the very least the city should review and revise its code. Employees should be able to vote for whomever they want but not actively campaign. It's a conflict of interest that create all kinds of complications.

I am thankful everyday that he did not get to privitize the complex. You can rest assured that he would have set his salary at 600k and the maintenance would have gone to pot. Doing the right thing for the general public comes after he takes care of himself. I would love to buy him for what he is worth and sell him for what he thinks he is worth.

Allen, I thought it was also disappointing that Johnson attempted to justify the behavior by suggesting that other department heads may be doing the same type of thing.

If they are, Joe, that's precisely the reason he ought to address it. Now.

I also find Johnson's comments disturbing. I realize you're not the news editor, Allen, but it seems there could be a much bigger story here. Any interest in pursuing it?

What?
Undermine all the good work that Lorraine Ahearn, among others, have done?
