No exceptions for Vick
I believe in second chances.
I also believe in accountability, fairness and consistency.
That's why I have so little sympathy for Atlanta Falcons star quarterback Michael Vick, who has been indicted on charges involving dogfighting and incredible acts of animal cruelty.
Not only did Vick allegedly sanction dogfighting on his property in Virginia, but sadistic executions of dogs who didn't meet expectations in the pit.
These dogs reportedly were electrocuted, shot, hanged and slammed to death.
Some argue that Vick deserves to be treated differently from other, lesser talented NFL players who have been suspended by the NFL even though they, like Vick, have not yet been convicted of crimes.
If the league truly plans to get tough on player misconduct, its rules ought to apply to everyone.
Or to no one.

In this country it no longer matters WHAT despicable acts you are involved in, it only matters who you are or who you know and you'll get away with them.
This poor excuse for a human being should be ejected from the team and the NFL IMMEDIATELY....next stop should be prison.
I am eager to see the proceedings and what the outcome will be.....if the NFL fails to kick this disgusting man out, I will stop watching football....period...I no longer watch baseball (thanks to Bonds and his steroid use) and basketball (fill in the __________with the player in the news of the week and their antics)...
Pro-sports is now no longer "entertaining", it's watching a bunch of overpaid, self indulgent, sick people doing nothing to further the sport and everything to promote their own chosen addictions and wallets..
There are very few sports "legends" anymore....just spoiled brats....their families must be SO PROUD!!

I totally agree with you on this one. Vick is an embarassment! He managed to use sports to make a way out of the roughest parts of Newport News, Virgina and will be remebered as that dog-fighting quarterback. The thing that is so deplorable about dog-fighting is that somehow it has become associated with masculinity and toughness. But nothing is further from masculine then watching two animals fight to the death. If these guys that fight dogs, roosters, etc. want to prove how tough they are; there is always the boxing ring or MMA.
