Comic relieved
Good for Earl Graves, publisher of Black Enterprise magazine, for pulling the plug on tasteless (and apparently unfunny) comic Eddie Griffin.

Just curious, Allen... you ever read "Boondocks," or watch the cartoon?

Yes, it was an excellent strip ... edgy and provocative, and most of all, funny. But I understand it's been discontinued.
The artist, Aaron McGruder, wanted to take time off, as I recall.

As I understand it, McGruder (sp?) took time off to create the cartoon series for Adult Swim. I bought the DVD of the first season over the past weekend. If you haven't seen it, I think you'd find it pretty stimulating...

I'll need to check it out. By the way, McGruder skewered Bob Johnson of Black Entertainment Television in a series of cartoons a few years ago.
He really got under Johnson's skin with his critique of BET's low-brow content, which I thought was dead-on.

In that case, I think you'll enjoy the cartoon episode where Huey spends a week watching "Black TV" in a parody of "Super Size Me." {;-)
