Hillary as VP? Forgedaboutit
I agree with Doug: The idea of Hillary Clinton as Barrack Obama's running mate makes absolutely no sense for any number of reasons.
1. With Hillary would come Bill as well. Two vice presidents for the price of one. Two second-guessers and potential headaches for the price of one as well.
2. Hillary and Bill represent a part of the Washington establishment Obama says he is trying to change.
3. The two don't personally care very much for each other. Why knowingly try to mix oil with water?
4. The "Dream Team" might energize the Democratic base but both are liberals (one from Chicago, the other from New York). How would that play to independents and voters in other parts of the country.
This is a worse idea than New Coke.

I bet he'll do it. Remember, he wanted to be president in kindergarten.

I think Hillary would rather step in front of a Mack truck on the Interstate than be "second place" in anything. I don't think her megalomaniacal personality will accept being only "next in line" to the president once again.

You kiddin' me, jaycee? She accepted "second place" when she married Bill. Senator Clinton will do anything ... absolutely ANYTHING ... to get into Oval Office. Hell, she'll endorse Senator McCain if it'll get her a shot in 2012!

I think someone like Joe Biden would be a much better ticket with Obama than Hillary. I'm registered unaffiliated and voted Democratic in the last two elections, but, unless McCain selects a nimrod like Huckabee as his running mate, I'll probably vote Republican. However, an interesting Democratic ticket like Obama-Biden might sway me back the other way.
But if he picks Hillary, it'll be problematic just as Allen said, with Obama looking like he's talking out both sides of his mouth by putting a heaping spoonful of the "Washington establishment" right on his plate.
