Graffiti laws

If you're a regular customer of this blog, you know anal I tend to get about graffiti.

So, I predictably think a High Point graffiti ordinance similar to Greensboro's makes very good sense.

In short, the offenders will be responsible for any buildings they deface, if they're caught. If not, the property owners are responsible.

This has worked reasonably well in Greensboro, with graffiti on bridges and underpasses in particular getting fresh coats of paint almost faster than it can go up.

But there's one exception. The underpass on Church Street on the northern edge of town has been laced with graffiti for months but few efforts have been made to clean that blemish up.

Is the city breaking its own ordinance?

I got caught writing the f-word on a lunchroom table in 5th grade. That wasn't in Greensboro, though.

do differing graffiti laws have any affect on how the society views itself?
does it view itself as more secure because graffiti is being punished?

i really dont see why you should care about graffiti. Someone spent alot of time putting it up/ designing it ( if they're good ). Also if you are going to spent that amount of money why not buy renovations for the city and not piddle it away on catching some people when you can make the city nicer not a shit hole that it is now. your just making "graffiti" a scape goat. also please redesigning your web page this is crap where did you learn to code ? seriously. notice how half of the damned page isn't even used ? maybe you could make it so that when someone types a comment what there typing does'nt get merged into the stupid blogs finder ? Also where do you get this sense of entitlement and power ? I'm certain you are not in a position of power and can do nothing about your "problem" so stop moaning about it and go be a mayor or something. along with this why don't YOU got paint the fucking street if your getting to the point you need to post it on your blog, and tell people who could care less like me. who googled "North Carolina graffiti laws" hoping that i would get a well maintained site not some crap about a butt hurt news reporter who cant use a paint brush.
I really hope that someone persists in painting (doing graffiti ) all over your city and your place of work.
