About those Palin letters: The sequel
From this morning's e-mail:
"With 4 out of 5 letters today pro-Republican and one neutral, I’m fearful Freedom Communications has bought the N & R!
"I know you hear complaints that editorials are too liberal, but they’re almost always local and the syndicated columnists seem to list to the right.
"Please, more balance in the letters to the editor! And leaning to the left would clearly be fine with me also!"

You gotta wonder when somebody WANTS the media to abandon its neutrality.

This is a joke, right! You use the typical dishonest liberal tactic of choosing a day when more letters concerning Palin come from supporters.
Another reason may be that, according to an August Battleground poll, a poling made up of a Demo-Rat polling company and a Republican polling company, that 60 percent of us self-identified as either very, or somewhat conservative, while 36 percent self-identified as eithe very or somewhat liberal!
Since most of us (at least 60 percent!) are not insane, don't you think that Palin would appeal to more of us! Of course, the incredible vitriol with she has been personally attacked by the lunatic makes up for the difference!
In the short time that Palin was picked, the polls thave been turned upside down, and the presumed coronation of your "Messiah" has been put in serious jeopardy. And in an election that was all but ceded to him by almost as many dispirited Republicans, and conservatives, as Demo-Rats.
More importantly, she has shown the true vileness, and insanity of the left, demanding DNA tests to prove that ther child is really hers, "Jesus, like Obama, was a community organizer, Pontius Pilate was a governor", she should have declined, and stayed home to take care of her family, are just a few of the many examples of the deranged left.

We publish what we get, Tony, including many of your letters.

Just for kicks, I went through the letters from 9/1-9/16. There were more than twice as many pro-Obama/anti-Palin letters printed in your "fair and balanced" liberal rag, than pro-Mcain/Palin letters, including the four from today that sent you racing to the computer and ask for more balance.
What a joke you liberals are. Your dishonest tactcs are disgusting. You are so mentally defective that you can't see what most of us can readily detect, your unquestionable liberal bias.

Tony, what would you like for me to do, write a bunch of pro-GOP letters myself to balance it out?
As for the "mentally defective" jab, can we please be adults here?

Tony,
I think you misunderstood the opening blog. I believe Allen just posted emails that he received from other people this morning. Allen, please correct me if I am wrong.
It was an attempt to show that while people like you consider the paper a Liberal Rag, others consider it a Conservative Rag. In my opinion, that is about unbias as you can get.
And please leave your blogoleon complex in your back pocket when replying to this message. I would hate to be degraded in an open forum where I can't even respond with an I'm rubber your glue comment.

Precisely. That e-mail I quoted came from a reader.

Come now, have any of you ever read one letter that was negative to Raleigh? If so I would like to see it. Name just one major Republican that this paper has endorsed, They have has much right to be liberal as I do to be conservative, what kills me they try to say they are unbiased. For whoever sent the email that said the locals were leaning right, try reading Doug Clark, Ed Cone, are Mark Binker! Palin Was attacked from the word go. She po the liberal press when she said she was working for the Americans, not for them! The paper should be filled with the amount of money Obama got from Freddie and Fannie this morning, ( you know the guy that is against lobbyist) yea right. I have not purchased my hard copy yet, will get it on the way, to golf course. I bet there is not one word.

Doug:
Remember, we're talking letters ... what, you, the reader, are writing, not us.
Couldn't the explanation concerning those letters be what it is: that a few more people are writing anti-Palin letters than are not?
And couldn't the solution be as simple: For people (including yourself) to write more pro-Palin letters?

I went back and reread rhe first post from Allen. I was wrong. It obviously a post from another deranged liberal complaining about the conservative bias of the N&R.
Please accept my sincere apology. It merely shows that even we conservatives can be wrong now and then. Of course the writer of the post in question does seem to validate by contention about liberals!
