Caustic comments about immigrants

The Johnston County sheriff has apologized for critical comments he made about Hispanic immigrants in a News & Observer series.

Some say that's not enough and want Steve Bizzell's badge.

The N&O reports:

"The apology came in a one-paragraph statement e-mailed to the newspaper shortly before 5 p.m. after Sunday morning's newspaper included a front-page article in which Bizzell criticized illegal immigrants for 'breeding like rabbits' and declared, 'Mexicans are trashy.' "

Bizzell said his comments were made out of anger after a drunken driver who is an illegal immigrant killed a boy in Selma.

I have been screaming bloody murder, about these illegals, and their easy driving permits and no insurance. Of course this goes right back to the good ole boys in Raleigh, so there is no out cry, from the media. Sad no one cares about NC citizens, but say one word a illegal and the media goes wild. Just vote for us baby and screw the people that pay the taxes. you try driving with no car insurance, and report to us what happens.

There are two completely separate issues here:

1. Sheriff Bizell's comments were completely inappropriate and ugly.

What's more, his knuckleheaded remarks tarnish those of us with legitimate concerns about illegal immigration.

2. Sheriff's Bizell's ignorant comments shouldn't distract from the real problems that illegal immigration creates. Uninsured drivers are one of those problems. People already in this country illegally aren't likely to obey the law regarding auto insurance.

Drunk driving is another problem related to illegal immigration. For whatever reason, Latinos (some, but not all, of whom are illegal immigrants) have a disproportionately high rate of drunk driving arrests. The Charlotte Observer did a big story about this a couple of years back.

I've heard it suggested that this is a cultural issue -- that drunk driving is more tolerated in Mexico. That's all well and good, but in North Carolina, drunk driving is a serious crime and should be treated as such.

No they are not two separate issues.. Now for facts. Bizzell, has had his hands full with illegals, with no help from the state. He was for Dole because, she is against illegal immigration. The good ole boys in Raleigh, turned their dogs loose. The boy getting killed was hardly new worthy. Bizzell remarks have become a major story in every liberal paper. Fact two, the good ole boys in Raleigh make no attempt, to control illegals with no car insurance are drunk driving.
Fact check, A drunk illegals was involved in a car wreck. Taking to jail to slept it off. Let go on signature, never to be heard from a again. Common as dirt in NC, and Va.
Fact , NC hands out driving permits to illegals, like they are credit cards. You only need something with a SS number on it. No questions allowed.

The Insurance Companys must be taking a big hit because of accidents being committed by non insured drivers. My Wife was struck at a stop sign by a car load of Hispanics that took off and ran after the accident. It cost my Insurance company 2000 dollars to fix. One of my friends was T-boned while riding a motorcycle by Mexicans who ran a stop sign. He lived but lost a leg from the wreck. They also ran. Both runners had N.C. tags of them.
