Dell to sell plant in Winston ... among others?
This just in from the McClatchy Tribune wire:
"Dell Inc. might sell some or all of its manufacturing plants, including the one it opened in October 2005 in Forsyth County, as part of its intensified effort to cut expenses, the Wall Street Journal reported today." Read more about it here.
Uh oh.

What does this do for all the money we taxpayers have shoveled out on this? Any idea?

So far, Doug, the answer to that question is unclear, although Dell seems to be on track in meeting the incentive benchmarks.

Only in America. If Dell decides to contract out all production, then we are in big trouble. The factories overseas will come in cheaper than a new company using the Dell plant here. The Dell model appears to be obsolete. If I want a computer, I go to the store and buy it. The disadvantages of ordering from Dell outweighs the advantages. I purchased 4 computers and a printer when I started my business over 20 years ago. I paid 25k. It is remarkable how the price has come down and the capability of the equipment has gone up. If they could have done this for autos, the world would be a different place.
