NBC boots Olbermann

NBC has yanked Keith Olbermann and Chris Matthews as MSNBC election anchors.

Good move. Both are commentators, not newsmen. Olbermann in particular has a very distinct point of view and makes no pretense of impartiality.

I think he's smart and funny and brutally direct but he belongs on his talk show, not in an anchor's chair.

Olbermann and Matthews will still be part of the broadcasts, but as what they are: commentators.

Olbermann and Matthews would not know fairness if they met it in the street. They are vicious, mean and are a failure in the news business. The current problems would not have ocurred if Tim Russert had been alive.

I am holding my breath until Fox drops Brit Hume as its anchor.

Also, no Republican seemed to have this problem with Matthews when he was praising Bush the last 8 years or trashing Clinton during the primaries.

Matthews praising Bush?
Bashin Clinton?
I must need a new TV.

This bodes ill for McCain. The obnoxiousness of MSNBC and its lewd Obamagasms was one of the best things he had going.

One columnist characterized the move as "a last shudder of journalistic integrity." Just so.

Doug, I have the same kind of TV you have. Matthews has been a reasonable journalist until he started having the leg chill problem, but he's said about 2 good things about Bush in his life.

Don't forget Chris Matthews worked for Jimmy Carter - so he knows a bad president when he sees one

Not to worry Brian, the liberal media, will keep looking for dirt on Pain. She got them confused. I heard last night, that they have over 50 reporters in Alaska looking for dirt. They are PO if some liberals. like my wife. So I say to please keep on spinning, I love it.
