Yow was a class act
Kay Yow has lost her long battle with cancer at age 66.
She battled the disease with the same drive and focus she expected from her N.C. State women's basketball team I'm glad I got to see her in person at the ACC women's tournament.
What courage and grace.
Here's one Carolina alum who admits his admiration.

Since I have been out of the state in recent years, I was not familiar with her. However, upon reading the comments in the paper yesterday, made by many who knew her, it is clear that she touched people in a special way.

As a 1 till 3 grade schooler at Allen Jay, it has been my pleasure to remember Principle Mr. Early's remarks at a state championship to Sharon Kay Yow. Coach Yow had rushed to be congradulated met eye to eye to embrace but Mr Early stated Miss Yow, we came with twelve towels we leave with twelve towels. I can not tell this story as Coach Yow did. Utmost dignity, grace and love, I need a dictionary to complete my thoughts. I just love her with all my heart and soul. Christine
