Heels No. 1 in cash rankings

Louisville may have slipped ahead to the top spot in the polls, but the UNC Tar Heels remain No. 1 at the cash register.

According to Forbes, the Tar Heels are one of the few college basketball teams in the country that is worth more in revenue than the football program -- to the tune of more than $25 million.

Now we know why Ol' Roy is paid so well.

You can travel all over the world and see Carolina a Blue, must sell a lot of shirts and hats. Must bring in a lot of money.
Liberal Adams wants to stop in state tuition for the athlete's that bring in this money.
Liberal Harrison wants to give illegals in state tuition, that cost us money.
Seems the vote by the illegals ( straight democrat) is more important than money.
Any damn wonder why the state is broke?

Allen Johnson said:

So you favor keeping tuition breaks for out-of-state athletes?

Doug Johnson said:

YES, they bring in money!!! I spend a ton of money, watching them preform. TV spends a ton of money in NC, to show these people preform.
You favor in of state tuition for ILLEGALS?
how much money do they take out?
I just spent $1500 to get shots in my back.
A illegals went on the internet and bragged he got his FREE. Same clinic.
Guess what sucker help pay for his? Got a mirror?

By the way, I understand Williams biggest money comes from outside sources!

It's the taxpayers, not the UNC Athletic Department, who pay for the police, dietitians, lawyers, building maintenance, travel agents, doctors,
insurance, the Dean Dome subsidy,
and many more. The UNC Athletic Department costs the taxpayers well over 50 million dollars every year.
College sports, the biggest taxpayer
and student rip-off around.

Doug Johnson said:

And who pays for these Illegals?
How much money did the city of Greensboro, take in today? Motels, food, other money spent by the basketball fans!
How much money did the illegals cost Greensboro, today?
Illegals are the biggest ripoff today!
Course you must remember they vote straight democrat.
Mt. Johnson, cat got your tongue?
Do you favor illegals getting in state tution?

Oh, please. Compared to the billions wasted on ne'er-do-wells, pointless programs, college professors, and the like, $50 mil (IF it's a legit number) is a small price to pay. Carolina basketball would be cheap at twice the price.

Allen Johnson said:

Uh, Brian, aren't you a college professor?

Allen Johnson said:

On in-state tuition for illegal immigrants:
No, I don't favor it. But I'm very conflicted on the issue.
It does benefit the state to educate as many people here as it can.

brian444 said:

Good point, Allen. I guess I didn't word my post clearly enough. What I meant to say was that, due to their tireless efforts to educate future generations of North Carolinians and to advance knowledge, college professors should have their pay increased.

Allen Johnson said:

At least a few, including some in Greensboro we all know, right?

brian444 said:

Well, it would save money if we could limit it to a few.
