Speak your mind about anything

That could be a motto for the newspaper's ever-expanding blog roster.

Starting Monday night, it'll also apply to a portion of High Point's City Council meetings.

Responding to a new state law that requires all municipal governing boards to set at least one public comment period per month, the council has made 5:30 p.m. at its first Monday meeting each month as public comment time.

Previously, people wishing to address the council on something not on that night's agenda were fit in whenever a few free moments came up during a meeting.

In the seven months or so I've covered council, I can only recall one person who wanted to address the council members about something not on the agenda.

With a northeast Davidson County development opposed by residents on Monday's agenda (read more here), I suspect the public hearing for that development will draw a lot more speakers than the public comment period.

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! Civil Rights Museum (Old Woolworth's bldg) should be SOLD to pay off the mortgages that Alston and Jones owe. When they both state that "Local,State & Federal Money would go to 'fix'" they're talking out of both sides of their mouths, as usual. This is Taxpayers money being spent to pay mortgages, rent, and everything else they can think of. Check out the local tax office! This building was a mistake, from the very beginning, and Taxpayers are tired of paying for 'endless money pits' created as non-profit organizations, so no one has to work and neither do they have to pay the money back.
A & T has an elegant memorial of this 'Sit-In' for all Taxpayers to see, why do we have to go in debt to create something for personal use? WAKE UP, FOLKS!

TAKING BACK AMERICA

WAKE UP AMERICA! Trusting the so-called “leaders”, both Republican and Democrat, to do what’s
best for America is a drastic and huge mistake.

1] A Real Travesty is eminent domain. My definition of this is “threatening applied loosely to that
which indicates coming evil, etc.”. Check what’s being purchased with Taxpayers money. Real
property alone is shown to be owned by Cities, Towns, Counties and States and not Taxpayers?
Where’s the benefits to Taxpayers?
2] Eliminating property taxes.
3] Eliminating Public Schools. We need good Christian schools in our own neighborhoods so that
our children can get an education in respect, morals, principles, and without further moral decay.
4] Eliminating Incentives. Incentives are creating bigger government, which we don’t need!
5] Governments hiring Lobbyists to get “our” money back. Something’s wrong with this picture.
6] Non-Profit organizations are “endless money pits!”
7] Change Voting System immediately. If you don't work, live off welfare and social programs then
you should not be casting votes telling Taxpayers what to do.
8] Change Public Office laws. If you, or your company, are supported with Taxpayers monies, then
you shouldn’t be able to hold public office.
9] Governments keep spending Taxpayers monies hiring consulting firms to do studies for Fish,
Wildlife, Rivers, Oceans, Creeks, Dams, and Wetlands, just to name a few. Why are Taxpayers still
footing the bill for salaries for these government personnel? I have a real problem with spending
Taxpayers monies for hiring the ‘experts’ who don’t know the job!
10] Ever wonder why wildlife takes turns roaming into your yard and highways? Ever wonder why all
ocean life has now become diseased?
11] Time to stop polluting, over-extending our resources, quit dumping sewer into dams, waterways
and oceans, quit cutting trees protecting the natural earth. “Re-routing” everything in site is not the
answer.
Time to put your thinking caps back on and get back to ‘common sense!’

ALL TAXPAYERS WHITE AND BLACK ARE GETTING THE SHAFT!

While I am on a roll and thinking about what Taxpayers should do before the
Tax and Spend politicians finishing bankrupting America, I'm going to point out a
few critical issues. But first, I have to address 8/2/05 article "NAACP is needed
to protect rights of black Americans". Does this mean it's o.k. for White Americans
to have a NAAWP to protect their rights and collect Taxpayers money, also, so they
no longer have to work at a real job? Frankly, I don't care, either way, but if Taxpayers
continue footing the bills for any of these groups, then they’re at fault, also.

Before the 1960's, Whites and Blacks worked together. Why, all of a sudden, 'it's a
white and black' thing?' I feel sorry for people who use this as an excuse. Don't you
understand that all Taxpaying Americans' civil rights are being violated by the greed of
the politicians?
The NAACP is just one of the non-profit organizations I've been talking about getting
Taxpayers monies without working. If NAACP was helping anyone but themselves, they'd be
in all neighborhoods, stopping illegitimates from having more illegitimates. Don't you
think this is causing prostitution, incest, run-down housing, drugs, rape, stealing and
killing? Why do you think your neighbors are trying to 'take back the schools, streets and
neighborhoods?" Because they know the problems that's been caused by this way of life! Once
again, this isn't about Black and White, it's about being a good American! If you can broaden
your thinking, get off your duffs, get involved, and for America’s sake, start helping instead of
criticizing!

Public Records show thousands of non-profit organizations getting Taxpayers money that
shouldn’t be. Guess who's listed as Agent? Check out Secretary of State and Tax records.

WAKE UP AND THINK FOLKS!

How TRUE YOU ARE.

IT'S PAST TIME FOR REFORM!!

We, the Taxpayers, are absolutely fed-up with Taxes, Bonds, constant lying and bickering! This “endless
train”, politicians seem to be riding, needs to back up about ‘nine yards’! It's time to ‘eliminate property
taxes’, ‘eliminate public schools and all their programs’, ‘eliminate non-profit organizations’, ‘eliminate
incentives’, ‘eliminate pet projects’ and ‘eliminate anything else that costs Taxpayers huge amounts of money’.
Think about it! If you didn’t have to pay all these “high property taxes” you could put your children into a good christian school. They’d then be able to face their future without confusion and moral decline!

People wanting to run for Public Office, or already in office, shouldn’t be able to run a business or run a “Non-Profit” organization that uses Taxpayer’s Monies! This should be looked carefully into since millions of Taxpayers’ dollars, from several sources, are being used to support some businesses!

The bad choices politicians have been making for America is just about one step away from putting us into bankruptcy! People wanting to run for Public Office should have a degree in Accounting or at least, be able to add and subtract without a computer. Get my point?

In reference to Emma Mieden’s “International Civil Rights Center needs, deserves our
support”, I would like to know what rock she’s been living under?” Don’t you just love the
wives of the affluent that get stuck on a project they know nothing about only that she grew
up in and around Museums? Her comments and I quote “it’s very frustrating that most of
us struggle year after year to raise funds for organizations that are trying to help the poor
and minority communities of the Triad directly by providing the basic necessities of life like
food, shelter, health care, and job training” leads me, and many more, to believe that she’s
out of touch with reality and doesn’t understand that this Center isn’t about helping
anyone but the owners and politicians! Why would her group want to raise money for a
building with a cellar underground with standing water when the owners and politicians
are getting millions of Taxpayers money?

This center isn’t going to help the poor and minority communities, it’s only going to put
more Taxpayers money into the pockets of the ones that own the property and have a big
mortgage for Taxpayers to pay. These so-called ‘non-profit organizations’ are bankrupting
America. You can check all non-profit organizations collecting Taxpayers money without
earning it. Secretary of State and Register of Deeds for good records!
The International Civil Rights Center is not going to help revitalize downtown Greensboro;
therefore, Taxpayers recommend that the building be sold immediately and give them their
money back or better, yet, Taxpayers should put liens on property to insure getting their
Tax dollars back!
Another comment by Ms. Mieden - “Only ignorance breeds insensitivity, prejudice, and
discrimination.” Again, who’s under the rock?

WAKE UP AMERICA!

Oppression rings a bell when hardworking Taxpayers think of the Democrats on Board of
Commissioners. After pointing out critical errors and flaws in 2004 Budget you’d think Davis,
Alston and others would have waited to pass the 2005 budget. Since Davis owns a business using
Taxpayers monies does he know how to budget?
No credit is due Democrats for budget, as no extensive time, work or serious thought was put into it.
AMERICA - WE HAVE A REAL PROBLEM!

February One at A & T State University is a monument in good taste. Both Democrat and
Republican Taxpayers are proud of it and we feel with all the Historical Museum areas in the
County another site is not needed.
High Priority should be given for new Laws for voting privileges and holding Public Office!
1] No one should be allowed to vote that doesn’t work and lives on social programs. This type
voting is “Discrimination against hardworking Taxpayers!”
2] Public Office should be held only by people who work or have worked for an independent
company and cannot hold Public Office if the company they work for or affiliated with uses, in any
form, Taxpayers monies to support themselves and the business.
ONE LAST TIME - PUT ON YOUR THINKING CAPS!
