All aboard the election train
As I write this, there are 69 minutes left until the end of election filing period. We've still got two uncontested races in Greensboro, including the top of the ballot.
So if you're ever wanted to run for mayor, here's your chance. You'll get to meet a lot of folks, answer questions at candidate forums and you'll be my new phone pal.
Last chance.

Matt,
Unless my memory has slipped, I don't recall a Greensboro mayor running completely unopposed in recent history.
I was wondering if you knew the last time only one person filed for mayor.
I'd be curious to know the same about Greensboro city council positions in general, since it appears Tom Phillips will not be facing any official opponents either.
If you're able to find out the answers to these questions, can you also share where you secured the information?
It is good that we have 21 citizens running for the other 7 seats.
With everyone else facing two or more opponents, things could get interesting if some of the lesser knowns run strong campaigns.
My guess would be that the three incumbents running for at-large positions and Diane Bellamy-Small are most vulnerable to losing their seats.
Of course, the other candidates could split their votes among themselves, decreasing any of their chances of defeating the incumbents.
Things could get interesting. I'm at least glad the majority of incumbents know they will have to exert some effort to stay in office.
Thanks for keeping us updated!
Sincerely,
Hardy
