Chewie has suggested that I leave it open to field questions and I am considering that.

Tom,
You wiped out all the comments on your blog! Ouch!
But I loved the title of your "final" post.
Quoting from "The Truman Show" was a perfect choice for a for-the-time-being exit.
(We've actually used this movie with our eighth-grade students as a way to have them think about the implications of technology and modern trends such as reality television.)
Your reasoning for pausing your blogging activity makes sense, and I definitely respect where you're coming from.
But I do hope you'll be back in the not-too-distant future.
I've appreciated the posts you've made over the last several months on your blog. You were already a council member I respected, but I felt like your blogging activity allowed me (and others) to get to know you a little better. For that reason alone, I regard your blogging efforts as worthwhile. I hoped that you would eventually start posting more frequently, and that's one of the reasons I respected your parting words.
Hopefully you'll still find some time to pop up on other people's blogs, as you did here.
I also like Chewie's suggestion as well.
I don't think I need to wish you well in the election. If I do, you really are in trouble!
Best wishes all the way around,
Hardy
