RMA, Bonds and Elections
Good Wednesday morning. Among the things Greensboro and the Triad will be sorting through today:
- Councilwoman T. Dianne Bellamy-Small's copy of the RMA report regarding former police chief David Wray was the original from which copies were distributed to local bloggers.
was fingered as the source of a leaked report on the rocky tenure of former Police Chief David Wray. - The Greensboro City bond vote was all over the place and at least one race is just barely too close to call at this point. A count of provisional ballots should make the picture a bit clearer today.
- Democrats retained control of the state House and will take control of the U.S. House next year.

Whoa, Mark, I take strong exception to your characterization of DBS being "fingered as the source of the leaked report."
First of all, the document examination was of the copy posted on the Internet (presumably to Greensboro101.com, although the report doesn't specifically say), not an examination of the copy orginally leaked to the N&R. There is no new evidence or indication of who may have been the source of the original leak.
Second, as the document examiner concluded, the document posted to the Internet either came from from DBS's copy or was a "generative copy." Since DBS was not the only person in posession of her copy, it is premature, irresponsible even, for a professional journalist, to say that DBS has been "fingered."

Maragaret agreed that language was a bit too strong and we have adjusted.

I'm no lawyer or professional journalist and this is not a court room. Therefore, I am going with that whole "duck analogy" thing. You know the one. QUACK!
PS: Bloggy scratch outs suck.
