Got bonds?
We're doing a story on the $671.6 million in Guilford County bonds that people will vote on in the May 6 primary.
So as we report this story, what kinds of things would you like to know about the bonds? Do you wonder if this a good time for bonds, considering the economy? Do you think that the schools, parks, jail and college are needed now - no matter what?
What questions and answers would help you make a better choice on the bonds? E-mail us or post a comment below, and we'll try to get to them along the way.

Some of the recent history regarding bonds would be very helpful.
Proponents of the school bonds argue that the county has a backlog of projects due to low previous levels of funding. Opponents claim that the county has squandered resources that it has already received.

Me too. I would like to see an all but line by line on the last bonds... what we voted for and how much vs what got done and how much.
Also, much appears to be what I would consider to be rather routine maintenance. Why is this not budgeted for in the yearly processes?
Why did we have Eastern Guilford what appears to be woefully under insured?

We will vote NO against most of the bonds! As a Tax payer, I did not take Greensboro and Guilford County and Jamestown and... to raise!
These bonds should be revenue neutral in terms of impact to the citizens otherwise the growth plan our great leaders have implemented make no sense! Why, as a taxpayer, would I want to grow jobs which require me to pay significantly more taxes!
Where is all the revenue from all these jobs that should pay for tese infrastructure expenses! I think they gave it away! The only bonds I can understand are probably a "true" expense is the jail and perhaps Eastern Guilford! All the others should be funded from tax revenue generated from the new jobs and new homes and new....!!! At our current rate, the commissioners will simply tax us out of our homes in just a few more years!
What a stupid growth model they are using! I am not sure of all the details on the parking deck at GTCC but if it is implaced by the water then the water board can pay for the deck thru increased water fees to the residents obtaining water! I have no interest in funding it! That might mean the commissioners need to get some "...." and tell them so!
THe north East GTCC campus should be caput! At a minimum it should be a joint expense between all the neighboring counties including and particularly ALamance where some of the jobs will be! Perhaps a 9/11 of our entire planning boards, commissioners, councils, etc. would not be such a bad disaster! They certainly are out of financial responsibility or economic reality!
