Chicken Capital, USA
As some of you may know, and the others may be shocked to learn, I am a devoted fan of the University of South Carolina (the USC). I didn't attend school there, but I grew up in South Carolina, where one is forced at birth to choose sides - Clemson or South Carolina, orange or garnett. I went with my maternal Grandmother, a Gamecock tried and true.
Why all the background? ...
Because ESPN's College Gameday crew is headed down to Williams-Brice Stadium, aka the Cockpit, for the South Carolina-Georgia game. Yes, South Carolina is likely to get trounced, but that won't stop the hordes of chicken lovers from coming back out week after week to cheer on their beloved Gamecocks.
Now my esteemed colleague Rob Daniels doesn't understand South Carolina fans. He finds them to be delusional with hopes of future glory in the face of so many past failures. But to me, that's what makes them the best college football fans in the country.
What do you think? Which school's fans are the best? The most loyal? The most rabid?
And while we're at it, here's a hypothetical that won't ever come true, but might be fun to ponder. Which would you rather have in the ACC, Boston College, or the return of the black sheep, South Carolina?

Boston College. Next question.
And I thought I'd been pretty darn adament about how delusional and ridiculous Gamecock fans are. Disappointed you gave Rob the nod as Naysayer No.1.

It is hard to get excited about either BC or SC in the ACC, but I will give the nod to BC, since that keeps Lou Holtz out.

So can you explain why a guy was holding a sign about having your "dawgs SPADE or neutered"? Subtle pun, or just the sort of academic excellence we should expect from SEC schools?

Bring USC back into the fold. I know it doesn't make sense as far as television viewers, etc., but it makes much more sense regionally. I think the natural rivalries in the ACC are with South Carolina, not Boston College.
