Replay anyone?
Ok, granted, we can pretty much all agree that Serena Williams got jobbed on that call during her quarterfinal match against Jennifer Capriati. And hopefully we can all agree that Serena was going a bit overboard when she declared that the errant umpire was "anti-Serena."
But what do you think of the concept of instant replay in tennis? Would it be a help or a hindrance?
And while we're at it, whatever happened to Cyclops, the machine that used to automatically call the lines on serves?

Instant replay for tennis could be an asset if its implementation allowed for quick reviews and decisions. Unlike football, where there's a natural and elongated break between plays, tennis relies on rhythm, and any significant delay could disrupt a player's groove.

You make a good point. But I think this might work for this reason. In it's current form, when a player disagrees with a line call, he/she is given what seems to be an unlimited amount of time to complain to the chair umpire while the fans (particularly those in France) let out piercing whistles. If, instead, that call went straight to the replay booth, we might not waste any more time than before.

The other issue that would need to be addressed is who can request a review and how often. Wisconsin's 1-yard football fiasco proves that ill-considered guidelines can damage the intent of instant replay.
