Sweet Caroline?
I tried to avoid this. I really did. I didn't want to produce a third straight blog entry on the Yankees-Red Sox series. If you're a fan of the Astros and the Cardinals, I completely understand if you're annoyed by the fact that everyone else - including me - has ignored your very good series. Heck, I've even been a critic in the past of how much hype New York-Boston gets because of where they're located.
But c'mon, tonight is going to be a historic moment, one way or the other ...
At the risk of invoking some sort of jinx - and really ticking off my colleague and Boston native Todd Graff - I'll refrain from giving my gut feeling about this game. I will say this much - Mr. Lowe does not inspire much confidence in me. A little more than Curtis Leskanic does, but not much.
So I'll leave it up to you gentle reader? What's your prediction for tonight? Sox complete their miraculous comeback? Yankees do what they've always done and crush Boston's dreams? Fox decides to go to their previously scheduled programming - When Animals Attack Paris Hilton - just as the game goes into extra innings?
And hey, Houston guy or St. Louis guy, if you want to vent about how no one outside of your metropolitan areas is paying any attention to you, go right ahead. We're all about the neglected and disenfranchised here.
By the way, whomever Jeff Carlton picks to win is almost a mortal lock to lose. Did you see his blog entry about Game 6? And have you seen his record in picking prep games?
