An interesting conundrum

In the flurry of winners/losers, grades, reaches and sleepers that are doled out after the draft, leave it to SI's Peter King to point out one of the most intriguing stories of the draft, the curious case of Luis Castillo.

Here's the short version, Castillo admitted using a banned substance - andro - before the scouting combine in a frantic attempt to rehab an injury faster. He came clean with it and is by all accounts a good kid who made a horrific mistake. But by drafting him in the first round, are the Chargers rewarding cheating? What sort of message does this send?

An interesting read that raises important questions. Yet another reason why I'm a big Peter King fan.

I HAD THE AMEINITY TO MET COACH EDWARDS WHEN I WAS 7 ALTHOUGH I DIDNT PLAY FOR HIM THEN,I PLAYED FOR COACH JERRY STANLEY,WHO IS I MIGHT AD A SUPERB HUMAN BEING ALSO. LIKE COACH STANLEY,, COACH EDWARDS WOULD PICK ME, MY BROTHER REGGIE AND MY COUSIN JR TROUTMAN , UP EVERYDAY TO GO TO PRACTICE. AT THAT TIME IN THE MID 70'S WE LIVED ON THE BLACK SIDE OF TOWN AND LEWIS WAS WHAT WAS DEEMED THE WHITE SIDE OF TOWN .. EACH DAY HE WOULD COME TO OUR HOUSE TO PICK US UP TO GO TO PRACTICE AND WE WOULD SPEND THE NIGHT ON SOME WEEKENDS WITH HIS FAMILY.. HE AND HIS FAMILY MADE A GREAT IMPACT ON OUR LIVES BY TREATING US A PEOPLE .HE MADE A YOUNG BLACK BOY SEE PEOPLE FOR PEOPLE AND JUDGE THEM ON THERE OWN MERITS NOT THEIR SKIN COLOR. MY FATHER AND GRANDFATHER THOUGHT ME THIS ALSO BUT COMING FROM A MAN OF COLOR OTHER THAN MAN HAD A TREMENDOUS IMPACT ON MY LIFE..I WAS ABLE TO COACH WITH HIM FOR A COUPLE OF YEARS AND TO SHARE IN THE JOY HE BASKED IN YEARLY FOR THE LAST AT 30YEARS.. WE USED TO RIDE IN THE HATCH BACK OF HIS 280Z .I WAS SO EXCITED WHEN HE HAD A CHANCE TO MET MY WIFE AND KIDS, I ONLY WISHED MY SON COULD HAVE BEEN OLD ENOUGH TO PLAY FOR HIM. WELL AT THIS MOMENT IM OFF TO PAY MY RESPECTS TO THE FAMILY .. ADDISON JAYIME KEEP YOUR HEAD UP ..RODO
