Well this is ... interesting
And I'm not just talking about the male member of the Winthrop dance team, nor their velour jumpsuit look. The Eagles are up 38-30, and it doesn't look like much of a fluke. This is essentially the same Winthrop team that nearly knocked off No. 2 seed Tennessee last year in the NCAA tournament. Four starters are back from that team. There is absolutely NO intimidation factor out there.
Add in that the Eagles are shooting lights out (8 of 15) from 3-point range, are playing their usual tough halfcourt defense and Ty Lawson is playing like a freshman point guard often does (5 turnovers) and you can see why the Tar Heels are behind.
Should make for an entertaining second half.
