Golfer kills bird: simply an accident?

An animal rights group wants the PGA Tour to punish Salisbury native Tripp Isenhour, whose golf ball struck and killed a noisy hawk while he was taping a TV show.

"I want to let everyone know there was neither any malice nor deliberate intent whatsoever to hit or harm the hawk," Isenhour said in a statement. "I was trying to simply scare it into flying away."

Accident? Are you kidding? A pro golfer with excellent aim got into his golf cart, drover closer to the hawk (a pretty large and easy-to-hit target), and started hitting balls at it. I wonder if he would have done the same if it had been a barking dog or a crying baby. Probably not, but it's no different. He killed a living thing because it was interrupting the taping of his marginal golf show. Not acceptable or appropriate by any stretch. And very diva-like, don't you think? I love that he says, "...please be respectful of my family's privacy," as if the hawk were a member of his own family and they were busy mourning its death. More like they're mourning the death of his integrity. This guy's a high-caliber jerk. Too bad the crew didn't have the cojones to stop him.

What a jerk.

Easy target? I say lucky shot ( not for the bird).
A pro ( not me) expects to hit a 100 yard shot with in a 6 yards of the pin. So to hit this bird, was more than likely a freak thing.

What an idiot he is. Lucky shot? Not from a pro golfer hitting multiple drives at the bird. He intended from the first to hit it and only showed remorse when people objected. Lock him in Michael Vick's cell. And fire all the apathetic staff with no guts to object.

I don't understand the actions of the (dead) hawk?
Something was wrong with him to act so fearless. I have hawks coming to my back yard trying to get the birds. If the hawks see me stand up inside my house, they will fly away.

LbS if this guy was this good he would not be on the Nationwide Tour. You folks that support peta should be happy, Red Hawks eats other animals. LBS if you going to call someone a idiot, you should at least print your whole name, phone number and email.
