More Daily Show fun
Nothing is sacred at "The Daily Show." So go check out the video from Monday's show, when they had two segments on Lance Armstrong.
Here is where you need to go. Start with "Quitter," then check out Rob Corddry's "Tour de Fr-Lance!"
Oh, and Brian Vickers piece is up. It's titled "Gays of Thunder." Use the link above. And if the online feed doesn't work, last night's Daily Show should be on again at 11:30 p.m., right after tonight's show.

This is funny. I was approached by Jon Daily's producer , pitching this idea to me. The advent of the shampoo and products like it alienating the hardcare cadre of fans. I respectfully declined, and hadn't thought anymore about it. Here's his orginal comment post and his direct phone number if anybody wants to discuss this piece with him.. It's Matt O'Brien at the Daily Show..
"I am a producer at a TV show and want to interview a NASCAR blogger. Can you please call me at 212-468-1772? Thanks!"
This was back on March 7, of this year.. I knew I kept that for a reason.. and John, I've got to agree with you, somebody with the Hendrick org. should have been aware that the Daily Show will cut/edit peices of interview til they get exactly what they need to make anyone appear foolish..and create whatever's necessary to make the joke work. given the very obvious political leanings of the show and it's host, what better target than NASCAR and the traditions of it's political leanings...

So how did "The Daily Show" find you, Scotsman? Did they see your blog?
p.s. I think NASCAR is an easy target in this instance not necessarily because the drivers and team owners all appear to be conservatives or Republicans, but because a Fructis sponsorship seems very much at odds with the sport's traditional male/macho culture.

They ( the producer) obviously saw the blog as the post was left in public comment forum there. and I see this to be a combination of what we've both said here. The ease of targeting by macho image and the NASCAR Dads angle , the political voting block touted by Republicans during the last election.. both are open doors for this type of satire. Whatever the case, I think there's better than average chance that Hendrick can kiss the Garnier sponsorship good-bye.

Gotcha, Scotsman. But my guess is that Garnier might stick around for a while. Mark Martin and Roush took a lot of crap for its Viagra sponsorship -- lord knows it's been the subject of a lot of jokes -- but Viagra has hung in there with the No. 6 car for a while now.
p.s. I don't blame you for turning down a "Daily Show" invite. If you have a sense of humor about it, you can survive the interview. But what made this so funny is that Vickers and the other interview subject took it so seriously.
