Harvick's pick
Kevin Harvick thinks Tony Stewart will win the chase.
The other two to beat: Mark Martin and Matt Kenseth.
And Greg Biffle, the guy Dustin Long thinks will win it all?
"I think (Greg) will do something stupid in the middle of the Chase, here and wreck somewhere. He'll take himself out of it at some point in the Chase. I think they're fast, week in and week out, but I think he'll screw it up somewhere along the line."
Oooooh, snap.
Biffle fans, of course, will note that Harvick has a good insight into the chase contenders because he's been driving behind them all season.
Check out the damage here.
Anyone having chase regret? Other than me, that is. I told you Carl Edwards was going to be a long shot.

What has Harvick done to even talk about the Chase? God I hate that asshole.

Wait...isn't Harvick and Smoke best of buds? Hmmmm...I'm sensing a Stewart Conspiracy Theory brewing.

Lemme see... I could choke during the season and not even make the Chase, like Harvick. Or I could make the Chase and have Harvick taking his envy-laced shots at me, like Biffle.
I'd rather be Biffle, thanks.

Mmmm, conspiracy theories. We need a few of those.
This was Harvick's chance to get one last shot at Biffle. If he takes a real honest-to-gosh shot at him on the track, NASCAR wouldn't hesitate to throw him over the side.
Speaking of Harvick, he's probably THE driver I'm most disappointed in. Tons of talent (he drives and can win in all three series), but so few results in the Cup Series to show for it.
Or am I overstating the case?

I don't know, John. You'd have to get Harvick away from the RCR train-wreck to know for sure what he is really capable of. I think '01 & '02 were anomalies just because RCR still had Dale's data to work from. After that, the changes to the rules, the tracks, the templates have been so great that they haven't been able to get a handle on things.
Stick Harvick in a Hendrick or Roush car and I think his results would be a good indication of how talented he really is... or isn't.

Biffle - the egotistical jerk with freaky eyes.
Harvick - the egotistical jerk with a nasty temper.
I'll take Harvick. No wonder rumors are flying about a move from RCR to JGR. I can't see Harvick doing well at Roush, nor Hendrick. His attitude and driving style wouldn't be suited to the "team" mentality.

Biffle is a bit bug-eyed, no? LOL!
CJ, I agree that Harvick wouldn't fit in with the team mentality but I don't think JGR is any more a viable answer. He would never play 2nd string to Smoke and I think that has been the direction that JGR has been going in for a few years now, whether Bobby Labonte or his fans like it or not.
So if he can't go to Roush, Hendrick or JGR what is left? DEI isn't even cutting it for Junior plus you have the 2nd string thing there, too.

Speaking of Harvick ...
The No. 29 car had a little bit too much junk in its trunk. From Dustin's story (to run tomorrow): "Series officials found that his trunk area had not been properly sealed and the shock doors inside the trunk area were open and not secured."
Anyone know how blatant this is? This is the second time this year he's been nailed during inspection.
He'll start 42nd on Sunday. Ouch.

Someone's car chief needs to be fired. Isn't it that guys job to make sure that stuff isn't happening?

The crew chief's job is not to get caught, Carrie. That's the problem with the No. 29.

Anyone else forget Harvick's lucky win in Cup this year was with Berrier suspended? And Harvick's won 4 races with someone else as his crew chief, and just 1 with Berrier. I hope RCR doesn't notice this and keeps Berrier around.
