Atlanta
Lots of good racing this weekend.
I probably won't know, because we've got friends coming over Saturday night and my parents on Sunday.
If I'm lucky, I'll catch the Sunday night NFL game.
So what on- (and off-) track action am I missing?

A beautiful day for racing...well umm for some of the drivers at least. Dale Jr's bad luck must have rubbed off onto Rusty. Rusty's championship hopes pretty much went down the tubes. Great day for Carl Edwards who won. A good day for Mark Martin, Jeff Gordon, Dale Jr, Jeff Burton, Kenseth, Bifle, and McMurray. Bad Day for: Wallace, Truex Jr., Newman, Harvick, Labonte, Mayfield, Kahne and Johnson. I'd tell ya more, but I don't want to hog up the space.

The Kurt Busch Fan conspiracy theorists (all 11 of them, I'm not one) are convinced that Jack has a flat tire button on the 97.

No, I have the Kurt Busch flat tire button. I'm still ticked that he lost that wheel at Homestead last year and managed to win the Title.
Oh John, the 24 car ran up near the front most of the day.

I caught just a little of the race - a few laps in the middle and the final 50 laps - because my folks were in town. (It's birthday month at Casa Newsom.)
Atlanta disappointed for the most part - Edwards seemed to have a gear no one else had. But it was good to see the 24 and 8 running up front. Shades of 2006, maybe.
Here is Dustin's story, in case you missed. And here is Dustin's notebook that piles dirt on the title hopes of Busch, Wallace and Mayfield.

I consider Atlanta my 'home' track but gah, what a borefest. Fast is fine but someone always flat-out dominates there and it's not any fun to watch.
