Awesome Bill at Daytonaville

Sorry, Boris Said, but Bill Elliott wants your car for the Daytona 500.

Guess that retirement thing isn't all it's cracked up to be.

Friday morning update: The semi-retired Terry Labonte will be at Daytona, too, but you knew that already. Today's news is that T-Lab will drive 17 races in 2006, then hang it up. He ran 14 this season.

Anytime Bill wants to drive for you, you don't turn that down. Besides, Bill hasn't officially fully retired ;-)

Hey! Leave Bill alone. This Elliott-fiend is warning you.

*chuckle* I can't be intimidating, even if I try. Bleh.

Actually, I'm excited that Elliott will be driving in the 500.

I guess my point (which came off snarkier than I intended) was that it's not all that easy to walk away from something you've done for, oh, 30 or 40 years. I think he got tired of watching the 500 on TV. Can't say I blame him.

Bad break for Boris, though. The fact that he doesn't have a ride for the 500 (assuming he hasn't scheduled a better gig for that weekend) suggests turning left and driving fast might be a bit harder than it looks.

Maybe he got tired of trying to coach Dodge drivers...

or Evernham...and you weren't that snarky and I wasn't annoyed.

I think intimidation seems to be a factor with Boris. I love the Brillo-headed guy...but he seems to get a case of the oval track jitters in big events...

Maybe we could get Boris wound up if we told him Paul Gentilozzi was running too.
