Daytona blogging
... from washingtonpost.com, the online division of the Washington Post, of all people. Go say hi to Mike Snyder, an editor at the Web site who's making his 10th trip south. He's a Tony Stewart fan mostly because he's a Washington football/Joe Gibbs fan.
But sending Snyder doesn't make up for the Washington Post's sorry excuse for NASCAR coverage so far this season. ...
What little there is is here, and it reeks of the wires. Seems like the Post sent racing writer Liz Clarke to Italy and blew off Daytona.
Fine by me. That means there's more room for Dustin Long and Ed Hardin and other journalists who realize that NASCAR is, like, I don't know ... popular?
Speaking of Tony Stewart, this is from Dustin today: Tony Stewart once described himself as a pawn in NASCAR. Sunday night he rose to knighthood. Read it here.
I'll have more on Chad Knaus later.
Wednesday update: I take back my crack on the Washington Post. The paper now has staff-written stories (good ones, too) on Gordon/Earnhardt, Denny Hamlin and things to watch. They're all here.
