Odds, ends and Biffle
I go away for a few days and I miss a ton:
Greg Biffle won at Darlington. Who lit a fire under him? Looks like he'll pull a Kenseth and make it into the chase. The only question: Who's he going to bump?
More after the jump ...
Dale Jarrett is leaving Yates for Waltrip/Toyota. Good for him -- he'll cash out at the end of his career. That's a good hire for Toyota - past champ, popular, moves product. No wonder everyone is hacked off.
Speaking of Toyota, the Journal's Mike Mulhern (reg. req.) doesn't understand why Toyota wants to race the Camry: The street Camry - unlike the venerable Monte Carlo SS and Dodge Charger - is a boring car. A quality car, to be sure, but no pizzazz. Nevertheless, the Camry has been the best-selling car in America for eight of the past nine years. For those with shorter memories than the Journal's racing writer, the best-selling U.S. car before the Camry was ... the Ford Taurus, the ultimate Snooze-Mobile. I dunno -- has the "win on Sunday/sell on Monday" rule been repealed?
Mark Martin loves him some rap music. From the Roush folks:
As a continuation of the "Salute to You Tour" the official Mark Martin rap anthem, "Start Your Engines", will debut during the NASCAR NEXTEL All-Star weekend. Media will be able to hear, for the first time, the rap song that was inspired by Martin's awe inspiring career and love of rap music.
Finally, fire up your VCR: Dustin Long made the cut of the upcoming ESPN SportsCentury piece on Junior. 2 p.m. Monday on the Deuce, 8 p.m. and midnight on Classic. H8ters should keep in mind that Junior has won 17 Cup races in his career.
So what else is up?

Martin? Loves rap music?
Who'd a thunk it!
Not me, nothing but a marketing scam.

Jimmie Johnson's won four more races than Junior in seventy-two fewer starts. Doesn't stop anyone from hating him...
