Kenseth vs. Gordon, round 2

I'm jealous, I guess. Not only did this guy get mentioned ahead of this guy (me) in this story, the source of the ranking mentioned above got 80 bazillion comments on her take on the Gordon-Kenseth get-together at Chicagoland.

So maybe I'll cash in on the same Gordon-Kenseth mojo by mentioning this little episode over the weekend. Playing the role of "Jeff Gordon" in this brawl is Alex Tagliani (because he's wearing a helmet); playing "Matt Kenseth" (the guy with no helmet) is Paul Tracy. The video is here; click on "Road (course) rage."

Beyond that, I couldn't tell you anything about the 2006 CART Champ Car season other than the fact that Paul Tracy has been rumored to be heading to NASCAR for a while now. That, and the fact that Tracy's little driving move was pretty sloppy.

Um, John...

It's Champ Car, not CART.

I propose that anyone who called Jeff Gordon a wuss for keeping his helmet on in his confrontation w/Kenseth be made to watch the video of Mr. Bravery Alex Tagliani. Alex had time to take off his HANS, stalk down pit road, get in PT's face twice and yet couldn't find the time to take off his helmet.

Couldn't be that he knew PT would kicked his block off if he didn't have his helmet on? What a wuss!

And PT's an even bigger idiot for taking a swing at a guy wearing a helmet like he'd be able to do any realy damage.

Like I said ...

I really could not care less about whatever it's calling itself this week. I used to care less about Champ Car than ARCA - until I watched the end of Friday's ARCA race. It took FOUR tries to finish that race because no one could drive a lap without crashing. (It should have been five - I think the flagman quit when he saw smoke pouring out of (I think it was) Frank Kimmel's car. Not just a little puff - more like a three-alarm blaze amount of smoke.) Now CART/Champ and ARCA are tied for last in my list of Racin' I Care About.

Couldn't be that he knew PT would've knocked his block off even. Can't type today.

Don't worry about the typing, Carrie. I've referred to "The Sporting News" as "The Sports News" and "Champ Car" as CART.

I feel like I'm the driver who is thanking the boys back at the shop for a great car even though I just backed it into the wall coming out of 2. Ugh.

As I wrote last night, I'm glad NBC comes right after ABC in my channel lineup. Good thing the IRL race was rain-delayed or I would have never seen such a great incident live.

And I thought the Canadians were a peaceful people.
