Lame

That would be me for not posting anything here in a while.

Here's something interesting: Dustin Long's 12 picks for the 2007 Chase. (No, Dustin doesn't know for sure that the Chase field will grow, but that's the way the wind is blowing.)

Over at NASCAR Scene, Bob Pockrass speculates on the 2007 Chase fates of seven drivers in last year's version but not this year's.

That might be my problem (and Dustin's and Bob's, too, maybe): I'm beat. It's a long season, and, yeah, it's hard to pay attention to racin' with all of this football going on.

But back to the 2007 Chase for a moment: If you believe in momentum (I do), Tony Stewart's a good bet to win his third title next season. The guys is driving like his rear end is on fire, and I think he's a little hurt that he has to sit at the kid's table this year. That, and a good strong front bumper, make Stewart the early favorite.

And Carl Edwards. I just have a funny feeling about that guy.

John, John, John...

Sure it is a long season, and by this time of the year, everyone is beat...but two weeks into the off season, and I start to have withdrawl!! I need my racin' fix!

2007...hmmmmm...who is to say that even though Toyota will be the new kid at school that they wont have a good showing? Not that I am a fan of the maker, but I have to admit that I am a glutten for punishment and follow Waltrip (and this year has been punishment!). I think things are gonna get shook up next year, and it looks like 2007 will be real interesting come Feburary!

I can't say I agree with you on the Smoke theory! While I beleive he will make the chase next year (in whatever new format it will be in..thank you Mr. France) I think the driver to watch will be young Mr. Hamlin. While most drivers in their sophomore year struggle (Carl Edwards, Kyle Busch), I think this team can only get better. That being said, I also think the Petty crew and Bobby Labonte will also be a force to reckin with!! I think it is time to put both the number 43 and Bobby back in the winner circle...and who knows, maybe championship #2 for Mr. Labonte.

By the way, how bout' those Bears!

I agree that Smoke will be on fire in 2007! The Roushkeeters should rally...#99 and #16. It would be fun if Labonte got back on top for Petty!
