Sterno?

Sterno, according to Mighty Mike, could have been the stuff that's inside the manifold on Michael Waltrip's car. Nothing but air should be going into the manifold. Ed Hardin was explaining to me how sterno works in that situation - sort of like nitrous - but I'm such a car n00b that I didn't get it.

Poor Michael Waltrip - can't even build a good cheater car. (You did read Dustin's Sunday story on Waltrip, right? If you didn't, go read it now. It's an excellent tale.

As for Kasey Kahne and Matt Kenseth, Dustin said the word around the garage is big penalties - like Chad Knaus last year, but more severe. We'll find out at about 4 or so Tuesday.

The way to end cheating? According to the AP's Jenna Fryer, maybe a driver needs to be sent home. Ouch.

This is a huge blow to Toyota! Just when it looked like they were going to do alright, with a top ten finish in the Shootout, Team Waltrip pulls a stunt like this! No matter what anyone can say about how they don't know what the "stuff" in the manifold was, this will forever be a black mark over Toyota. And why? It does not matter where one qualifies in a restricter plate race, only that you do qualify! Was Waltrip that worried that his car did not have the stuff to do it without cheating? I was a Waltrip fan, but after this stunt I am thinking...not! Every race that Toyota runs this year will now be under the blanket of suspicion that they are or will be cheating! Way to go bonehead, hope you are proud of what you did!!

I saw the interview of Waltrip after the manifold was designated suspicious, and quite frankly, Mikey looked and acted guilty.

Not a good start for Toyota, to have their main guy caught in a questionable act during the debut of their teams.

So, Chris, what do you think of Dodge and Ford? I think it's Evernham, not Waltrip, who has a lot to answer for right about now.

I think Jeremy Mayfield is behind what happened to Everham's cars.....

Seriously though I agree with Jon's assessment of Mikey. I used to feel sorry for him in his pre-DEI days, but now his head has kept getting bigger and bigger until it now rivals something you would only see in the Macy's Day Parade. He would still be at 0 wins if it weren't for the Earnhardts.

I started losing respect for Mikey last year when he bought his way into the first Charlotte race I believe. His reasoning there was of a person who could do no wrong either.

John...my wife says that Evernham has a morality chip missing...and isn't Dodge foreign owned now...but I digress.

You bet Team Evernham has a lot to answer for, but the bottom line...not one of his cars were impounded by NASCAR. Sure, to have all of your teams hit with penalties and fines and docked driver points before the season starts is a big hit, but NASCAR it making a point at Evernham's expense 'only' because they could not wait for the results on Waltrips Car (MY OPINION ONLY on that last statement). Cheat...deal with the result when you get caught! At least he did not lose a Million Dollar Car...and hey, he still has his Erin to cuddle up with...even though she does not have full time sponsorship for the ARCA or Busch Series...is that all tied together somehow?????

Geesh Chris, what did you have for your last meal, a bowl of hyperbole?

A single Toy team, out of six, has a tech problem (and at this writting hasn't been declared guilty of anything) and it's "huge blow to Toyota?"

Not hardly, it's a blow to Waltrip and only if they finally conclude the team skirt5ed the rules.

And I have to ask, just who was it that lost "a million dollar car?" That's your second helpin' of hyperbole, it would take 3, maybe 4 cars to reach that level of loss.

Now on to Johns ref to Jenna and her thoughts of tossing a car and driver out for a race or two.

It might have merit but it would never work in the ost litigious society on Earth.
