WITW: Boo!
Call 911! Farmer Brown has been caught up in a horrible agricultural accident:

On closer inspection, maybe not ...
I took the scenic route back to town Tuesday after going out to farthest eastern Guilford to cover a shed fire. I was coming down Burlington Road, near all of the Brightwood Farms developments, when this jumped out of a field at me:

(Sorry for the poor picture quality. The sun was behind me, and I'm still learning the finer points of this point-n-shoot. That said, I can't explain why this spider has six legs. Maybe it's not really a spider. Or maybe it's a haunted spider, which can have as many legs as it wants. I'm not going to argue with any bug I can't smush with a shoe.)
Anyway, someone is having too much pre-Halloween fun with some hay rolls and some other things they have lying around the house. Here's Farmer Brown after his roll in the hay:

I don't think he looks too good.
Here's a side view of the hay roll that claimed Farmer Brown:

Finally, here's a pumpkin that's painted and not carved:

Too much fun indeed. Happy Halloween!
