good morning Doug, Why no endorsement in district 5?

I have to agree with Joe Wilson, what no endorse-
ment? But then again, I think some people would
think that District Five is a "sleeper community."
In all the districts in the city, District Five, is the
most diversified district ethnically. Sandy Carmany, has worked diligently with ALL the people of different cultural backgrounds. (Hell, if
she can work with this Hawaiian, she can work with anybody!).
I see District Five, as our "Gateway of Hospitality,
Greensboro Style." With the Greensboro Coliseum, Four Seasons Mall, Koury Convention
Center, and the many restaurants and shopping
venues available, I wouldn't consider this a
"sleeper community." Thanks to the late Joe Koury and his vision in helping build this district.
One of the many accomplishments Sandy Carmany has done, that we can see, and that she can claim that she has accomplished. Is that the growth of this district, was through her hardwork
in partnering initiatives. Citywide, as well as
regional.
Sandy Carmany's strength is working towards
long term objectives, with limited resources. Like
any homemaker, she looks into a cupboard and
finds that she has little to work with. But, then
she finds ingredients that she can improvise to
make a full meal. Utilizing what is availiable to her
without over extending herself. Because she
knows, that soon, the cupboard will be filled with
more goods. So that the next meal she fixes, they
might be alittle more to put in the pot.
For what I see of Sandy Carmany's thoughts on
economic incentives. It is not so much of the
incentives that is being requested; but what other
initiatives are being offered, to in effect make the
incentive, a "incentive." Solidifying structured
economic negotiations that insures that this
city does not give more than what it already has been committed.
Sure, I hear and read, the rants of the general
populice, to get rid of the incumbents. It is impera-
tive that the voters of District Five, return Sandy
Carmany back to city hall. She has proven to
this city, through her tenure on the city council,
that she has what it takes.
I applaud Sandy Carmany for all the hardwork
that is doing for this district, as well as the whole
of the city. Thank you, Sandy!
Thank you for the opportunity, for allowing me to
speak at the table.
