Question of the Week
I hope the lack of response we got to last week's voting question isn't an indicator of how many (or few) will vote Tuesday ...
Maybe more of you will respond to this week's question:
Will the Skybus expansion at PTI change your flight plans?
The Skybus expansion certainly has me thinking. With a family of five, I have found flying too pricey. But with Skybus setting up several routes at PTI, I'm starting to reconsider. What especially interests me is the flight to Portsmouth, N.H. We have friends who vacation in Maine in the summer who for years have invited us to visit. I've never thought seriously about taking them up on their offer. It would be too costly and a logistical nightmare. Now with an affordable flight from PTI almost to the Maine border, that visit may become a reality.
I imagine that many others have similar stories. We'd like to hear yours.
For another take on Skybus and PTI, see today's Ideas section. Michael Lowrey, of the John Locke Foundation, takes a skeptical look at providing incentives to Skybus ...

Same here. Flying's too expensive so we don't do it. I'd be more likely to fly Skybus if the prices were reasonable for a family of four. I've been hoping to go to Seattle to visit relatives, but I don't know if Skybus offers any flights there. Maybe the other airline's prices will come down.
On the surface, I don't like the concept of incentives (seems like corporate welfare for already rich companies.) But incentives seem effective in luring big companies to our area, which is a good thing considering the mass exodus of manufacturing jobs over the past few years.

I will use the Skybus direct service to Burbank, Ca., instead of Delta thru Atlanta. My son and his family live in Orange County, and we can only afford one trip a year at the current Delta
prices, My grandson has MTM (muscle disease in MD family) and he is four years old. Life expectancy is not very good. Requires 24/7 attention and my Daughter-in-Law and Son have devoted their life, to his care-giving. I would love to spend more time with him. The Skybus service will allow this !
Thanks,
Thomas Woodard

I am so excited with Skybus comming to GSO,, We have moved here from NH leaving my children/grandchildren behind. With skybus, we will be able to visit more often. Much nicer to watch the little ones grow rather than in pictures. Wishing Skybus the best !!
Welcome !

Almost anything that will add to the local economy is welcome. This may give the other carriers reason to lower fares. Wonder in they are allowed to serve water as they fly out of Greensboro?
