Question of the week
Earlier this year radio shock jock Don Imus was fired. Now he's set to be back on the air next month (though on a different station). Which leads to this week's question:
Should Don Imus return to radio?
Apparently, WABC thinks he should be back on. What about you?
(I have never understood TV's airing of radio broadcasts. It always seemed weird that Imus' radio show could be seen on TV. But that is another topic for discussion...)
Thanks to those of you who sent in and posted responses to the Skybus question.

With the likes of Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, and Bill O'reilly on the air, Imus should be allowed to join the crowd. At least he is entertaining

One of the challenges facing all broadcast (and other) businesses is finding competent people to come in at night and clean. I'd let Imus audition for a slot like that ... as long as he wasn't allowed in any room that has a microphone. Maybe Howard Stern could be his assistant. Anything that would signal even a small step toward returning civility to the airwaves would be good.

why all the fuss about imus? the man made an offhand comment in a lame attempt at humor. Consider for comparison the remark by Barbara Bush at the Houston Astrodome after hurricane Katrina; "So many of the people in the arena here, you know, were underpriveleged anyway, so this is working very well for them." Associated Press, Sept. 6, 2005. that remark got very little coverage when compared to the beating Imus took.

Absolutely, he had wonderful interviews with both journalists and politicians from both sides of the aisle. It was extremely interesting, informative and, often, humorous. If one listened to him often one could, actually, get both sides of most stories. Not easy to do nowadays. He also has a ranch to help dying children of all colors and faiths. He is helping to find the causes for autism and was directly very helpful in getting a great deal of money raised for the Intrepid Heroes Fund. He can be very crude, as he was "that day", but a heart felt apology should have been enough. I think we all need to be more forgiving and understanding of others.
