I have a new question of the week for the News & Record: Why are you treating a local gang boss like a community leader? I think it's great the guy is preaching for peace, but when did we stop recognizing gangs as organized criminals? Gangs openly commit terroristic acts. Gangs are the same as Al Queda. Is the News & Record for Al Queda?

The history of "enlightened" gang leaders calling for a truce has most frequently resulted in a regrouping of membership, a strengthening of the chain of command, and the refreshing of their aresnals. The result is often a full fledged attack on law enforcement.
I think it is significant that law enforcement was closing in on this fellow to the point that he turned himself in.
Oh yeah, on the other issue- birds of a feather...

We would absolutely support a national speed limit of 55 mph to save fuel. It has been proven that this is an effective way to economize our travel and also to make our highways safer.
