In my opinion, Sarah Palin was the clear winner of the VP debate. I am excited to see a fresh personality instead of the same old "politics". Joe Biden was gracious and charming, and did what he had to do, but Palin was outstanding.

Roseanne Lianne said:

Biden won. Palin would not answer the questions she was actually asked. She spoke directly to the American people, but she can do that with the topic "Which popcorn brand tastes better?" as well, and I wouldn't care in the least. Instead, she kept coming back to the exact same question over and over again. Are the other questions not as important, or was Palin just not prepared? I want to hear her views on all the issues, not just the two or three she is comfortable with.

In comparison, Joe Biden stayed on topic and answered the questions with facts. He managed to be direct without dodging every other question in favor of one. In my opinion, that would make him the winner.

Pete said:

I agree with Roseanne. All politicians speak around questions when answering, but I've never seen one so blatantly ignore the questions just to talk about topics of comfort.

Palin at one point admitted she wasn't answering the questions. At another, when asked about sub-prime mortgages, said she was going to talk about energy policy (again) instead.

She was definitely better than she appeared with both Couric and Gibson, but she is no Joe Biden when it comes to domestic and international affairs.

And I found her winking to be downright insulting.

I believe that Sarah Palin won the debate. It seemed that she was thinking on her feet and that she connected to the audience. For someone who has been in Washington,D.C. for years,Joe Biden, seemed to get flustered on several occasions.I like someone who speaks their mind and Sarah Palin does just that.
